As the festival draws ever closer, we take a moment to look at newly and recently released albums from artists taking to the stage at Rewire 2025. We’ve broken these down by day, showcasing releases from artists you can expect to hear across the weekend when Rewire 2025 takes to venues across The Hague’s city centre. Dive in below:
aya ‘hexed!’
aya sinclair, better known as aya, is a DJ, producer, and self-proclaimed “real person” from the north of England. At Rewire 2025 aya (accompanied by MFO) performs music from hexed! (2025), which marks a new step forward in aya’s practice.
Ben LaMar Gay ‘Downtown Castles Can Never Block The Sun’
The music of composer, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and poet Ben LaMar Gay is mystifying. From swooning bluesy R&B refrains to minimal toybox synthesis, his experimentations in and through jazz bubble with noisy textural wonder and free-spirited adventure. He plays music from Downtown Castles Can Never Block The Sun at Rewire with an ensemble consisting of Matthew Davis, Tommaso Moretti, and Will Faber.
Kinlaw ‘gut ccheck’
There are many ways to describe Kinlaw’s symbiotic practice: as that of an artist, a vocalist, a choreographer, a performance artist, and a researcher of psychoacoustics and neuropsychology, to name a few. On her recent sophomore album, gut ccheck (2025) on Bayonet Records, co-written with Carlos Hernandez, delicate and harmonious chamber pop is transposed with whirling and energetic industrial tracks – creating an unfolding sense of movement and stillness, battling an eternal tug of war.
YHWH Nailgun ‘45 Pounds’
YHWH Nailgun is Zack Borzone on vocals, Jack Tobias on synth, Sam Pickard on drums, and Saguiv Rosenstock on guitar. The quartet create experimental and ecstatic body music, lathered in percussion and distortion.
BITOI ‘Sirkulu’
BITOI is a Swedish-Danish quartet made up of Cassius Lambert on electric bass and vocalists Alexandra Shabo, Lise Kroner, and Anja Tietze Lahrmann. This choir of three form the throughline of BITOI’s sound, guiding and leading Lambert’s bass through songs that are equally humble and lavish.

NYX ‘nyx’
NYX is a London-based collective of artists who join together as a futuristic choir – taking the voice and its potentials to new places, while melding it with sparkling and sincere electronic production. Their newly released eponymous album is co-produced by Grammy-nominated and Mercury Prize-winning recording engineer Marta Salogni, and features production from Sebastian Gainsborough, aka Vessel.
Zoë Mc Pherson 'Upside Down'
Artist, performer, DJ, and sound designer Zoë Mc Pherson and motion designer, director, and visual artist Alessandra Leone return to Rewire to bring their giddy combination of art-pop creativity and experimental club sensibilities and mind-altering visuals to PAARD I.
Backxwash ‘Only Dust Remains’
Ashanti Mutinta is the Zambian-Canadian rapper and producer behind the moniker Backxwash: an industrial hip-hop project exploding with brash, maleficent intensity. Backxwash will perform a show of music from her newly released album, Only Dust Remains (2025), at Rewire 2025, setting the stage for what comes next in the wake of her prodigious trilogy of albums.
Eiko Ishibashi ‘Antigone’
Eiko Ishibashi is a Japan-based musician who, over a two-decade-long career, has released with labels like Drag City, Black Truffle, and Editions Mego. Her new album, Antigone (2025), released with Drag City, moving from the atmospheric work of her recent soundtracks, she returns with an album of songs, her first in seven years – since The Dreams My Bones Dream (2018).
more eaze & claire rousay ‘no floor’
As long-time collaborators, a warm, palpable feeling of friendship murmurs at the forefront of the music of more eaze – moniker of violinist and multi-instrumentalist mari maurice – and claire rousay – percussionist, improviser, and producer. Their new collaborative album, no floor (2025), brings a wistful type of Americana, fit for a land on the brink of chaos. They present the world premiere live performance of the album at Rewire 2025.
Alongside these recent releases, don’t sleep on some new albums from a little further back, including: da Googie and Cara Tivey, Alec Mateo, Elliot Galvin, John Glacier, Colin Self, Jules Reidy, and Panda Bear; or on the forthcoming album from Maria Sommerville.
