more eaze & claire rousay

World premiere

As long-time collaborators, a warm, palpable feeling of friendship murmurs at the forefront of the music of more eaze – moniker of violinist and multi-instrumentalist mari maurice – and claire rousay – percussionist, improviser, and producer. Their new collaborative album, no floor (2025), brings a wistful type of Americana, fit for a land on the brink of chaos. Curative and critical, the soft noise of more eaze and rousay’s ambience washes away the detritus of modern city life, offering a glimpse into a calmer experience of time – where melancholia has a gentler pace, where horizons and highways stretch farther than the eye can see. Their forlorn songs elicit a cinematic visual world, and speak thematically to that strange impulse to return – and the ever-present impossibility of truly returning. As slide guitar jangles and entangles with violins and noise, a subtle and emotive palette is formed: the world that more eaze and rousay paint with it is as vibrant as it is harrowed. They present the world premiere live performance of no floor at Rewire 2025 in the blissful Lutherse Kerk.
