In collaboration with DJ YoungWoman and performer Arno Verbruggen, MAISON the FAUX – a creative studio posing as a grand couture fashion house – investigates paganism. They present GLAMPUSS, an immersive installation that gives new meaning to false gods and forgotten rituals. Pagan rituals and symbols – that have been assimilated by Christianity and subsequently found their way as symbols of capitalism – stand at the core of an immersive installation. Looking at the desirability of abundance, the performance-installation explores the tensions between the individual and the masses, and natural and capitalist cycles.
The project is commissioned by Das Leben am Haverkamp and Rewire as part of a long-term collaboration between the two platforms, facilitating space for experimental crossovers between fashion, performance art, and music. Supported by Creative Industries Fund NL and Gemeente Den Haag.
