Highlights: Rewire 2025’s opening programme

04 Apr 2025

Yesterday the 14th edition of Rewire began to unfold across the city centre of The Hague. Early in the day, our context programme began at West Den Haag – hosting a number of lectures and conversations and a day of performances from students of Sandberg Instituut. Meanwhile, Proximity Music: Echoes of Entropy – Rewire's collaborative exhibition programme with iii – started to welcome visitors.

As the sun began to set yesterday evening, a beautiful cacophony of sounds filled the evening air at The Hague's Hofvijver when Alvin Curran presented an unforgettable performance of Maritime Rites. He himself, joined by numerous musicians in boats, gifted onlookers with a beautiful tribute to the foghorn, performed with horns, drums, field recordings, and brass. Curran performs throughout the weekend, including a solo show on Friday, and a performance of Canti Illuminati on Sunday.

Afterwards, Koninklijke Schouwburg filled up for a sold-out performance of CORTEX from Kianí Del Valle Performance Group, Hamill Industries & Tayhana and a spellbinding performance of Nati Infiniti by Alessandro Cortini.
