Rewire 2019 is spread across 12 different venues in The Hague’s city centre. Most venues are within walking distance of each other, and it shouldn’t take you more than a quick stroll to get from one to the other. Koninklijke Schouwburg and West Den Haag can be reached by taking Tram 16 from Het Nutshuis or Central Station to the Korte Voorhout stop. You can find information about each of the Rewire 2019 locations at Venues. To give you a quick overview, we’ve made a handy map.

4.Daylight Saving Time

This year’s festival conveniently coincides with Daylight Saving Time. At 2:00 AM on the night of Saturday, 30 March to Sunday, 31 March, the clocks will move forward by one hour. We’ve accounted for this in the programme and printed timetables. All you need to know is that there won’t be a break in the performances and that the Saturday of Rewire technically runs until 7 AM on Sunday morning.

5. Card vs. Cash

While most of the Rewire 2019 venues accept both cash and card, the bars at venues like Grote Kerk, Lutherse Kerk and Oude Katholieke Kerk will only accept payments by debit and credit card.

6. Read the Rewire 2019 programme book

You can read all about this year’s festival in the programme book. We’ve included in-depth explorations of our festival themes, special performances and collaborations, as well as a complete overview of the music programme, talks, workshops and screenings at Rewire 2019. You’ll also find a series of pressing and captivating texts by six different writers and thinkers that serve as a window into our festival themes. You can read the programme guide online or grab a copy at the Ticket & Info Centre or one of the festival venues.

9.Prelude to Rewire 2019

In a Rewire first, we’re teaming up with the Royal Conservatoire to present a special prelude concert at the conservatory’s Arnold Schönbergzaal on Thursday, 28 March 2019. The Prelude to Rewire 2019, which is free to attend, sees French-Argentinian composer Daniel Teruggi and American electronic music composer Nic Collins perform works of classical and contemporary music on a spatially-distributed loudspeaker installation, followed by an improvisational performance on trumpet, electronics and piano by Collins and Gabriel Paiuk.

The symposium is free to attend, but registration is required.

In addition to the symposium, we’re teaming up with Studio Loos’s Crab Music collective for the all-ages, walk-in workshop Creative Sound Lab – a buzzing sound laboratory where you can discover and mix your very own sound – and Music Hackspace for a Machine Learning for Artists and Musicians workshop with Goldsmith’s resident computing expert Dr. Rebecca Fiebrink.
