On Friday 5 June, Evelien van den Broek is due to release her new album ‘ENDLINGS’. The album acts as a sonic response to the man-made ‘biological annihilation’ of Earth’s sixth mass extinction. Evelien was going to present this new music as part of her Biophonica live show at Rewire 2020, which has been rescheduled for a later date. Using field recordings of extinct or endangered animals gathered from sound libraries, scientists, and the pioneering soundscape ecologist Bernie Krause, ‘ENDLINGS’ immerses us in obsolete soundworlds, reconnecting us with our natural environment through sound.
