Introducing: Wacław Zimpel

Rewire x Korzo

Born and raised in Poznan, Wacław Zimpel is one of the most unique and boundary-defying artists that Poland has produced in recent memory. His talents as a multi-instrumentalist have led him to become a prolific collaborator throughout his career. We are excited for him to demonstrate this as he joins producer Rabih Beaini for a rare live performance at Rewire x Korzo on the Friday 1st November. The last remaining tickets for this event are available at rewirefestival.nl/tickets

With influences traversing minimalists such as Terry Riley and Jazz greats like Ornette Coleman, the music of Wacław Zimpel crosses a wide range of genres. To get an impression of what to expect from Wacław, stream his 2017 LP with Kuba Ziołek, which displays the diverse nature of his recordings and collaborations:

Wacław Zimpel also performs with the group Saagara, who released their second album in 2017. He says his aims with the project are “To create a bridge between Indian sounds and Western music logic in order to go against some popular trends. Thankfully Saagara is a very creative entity.”
