The legendary improvisational noise duo Yellow Swans perform a very rare one-off show at Rewire 2025; they are made up of Gabriel Saloman and Pete Swanson – who returns to Rewire after a memorable church-basement solo show in 2012. From their beginnings in 2001 until their hiatus in 2008, Yellow Swans forged a path across the underground US experimental music scene performing their noise-encrusted and texturally rich music – spanning noise, psychedelic, industrial, drone, and hardcore. Recently, after a 15 year break, the duo arose from hibernation to begin recording and performing together once more, revitalising their untethered and raucous music for guitars, tapes, and electronics. The cacophonous and unrelenting energy of the duo can be heard in full force on recent releases Left Behind (2023) and Out Of Practice I & II (2024). Gurgling sine-waves and crumbling distortion adorn their music, but from the rubble of this noise sprout momentary glimpses of exalted harmony and serenity.
