Wouter van Veldhoven describes himself as: “tape recorder addict, musician”. The manner and orderof this self-description obviously has some importance for him, as his live performances are drivenby an imposing assemblage of old and self-built tape recorders and related electronic equipment. Live, the overall effect is impressive, both audibly and visually. Incendiary magazine was moved to say thatvan Veldhoven’s sound was “a vast womblike racket […] his cosmic bubble being floated by a wall of old synths and things that looked like they’d been nicked from Alan Turing’s shed.”
Van Veldhovensums artistic matters up in another brief charactersketch: “lots of hiss, nostalgia and moving parts.”
