DJ and producer and Tayhana is a burning comet, lighting up the international club scene. Her DJ sets and productions seek to bring recognition to the complexity of sounds emerging from Latinx culture in her native Argentina, Mexico City (where she’s currently based), and South America more broadly. Vibrant drums, sparkling synths, curious textures, and booming bass characterise her amorphous sound; although rooted in the club, her productions have an experimental quality, pulling from different places to create a gorgeous patchwork of tones and styles. Her debut album Tierra del Fuego (2019) on label N.A.A.F.I. catapulted her into prominence in the dance scene and beyond, leading her to produce and remix for artists like Kelela, Gaika, Lafawndah, Turkana, and Rosalía – for whom Tayhana produced the track “CUUUUUuuute” on album Motomami (2022), which won her a Grammy. On recent EP La Noche se Apaga (2024), made in collaboration with Agromance, Tayhana’s vivid percussive leanings take centre stage among twinkling synth blossoms and rumbling bass drums. Tayhana also performs at the opening of the festival alongside Kianí Del Valle Performance Group and Hamill Industries for their CORTEX collaboration.
