Showcasing the outcome of a residency, the composer and musician Zen My Nguyen, aka Radio Hito, presents a special collaborative live A/V show, accompanied by musician Alex Andropoulos on drums – a member of the experimental duo Able Noise, who also play at the festival – and with visuals from graphic designer and design researcher David Bennewith. Across voice and Casio keyboard, Radio Hito creates fantastical, mirage-like songs. Her music is forlorn chanson for the digital age; bringing her haunting and beautiful vocalisations into conversation with MIDI soundfonts and humble-yet-deep casio compositions, a gorgeous simplicity propels her sensitive, mournful music. For Rewire she introduces material from her upcoming release based on L’Usage et les attributs du cœur, a book by French poet Claude Royet-Journoud.
