Formed in Lisbon in 2009, PAUS are a Portuguese collective who break all the regular moulds with their unusual constellation. Comprising two drummers – the motor of the band – a bass guitar and an arsenal of synths, the quartet creates elaborate sonic textures that shift between experimental psychedelia and tropical pop. Slated for release on the eve their performance, their new album was recorded on the island of Madeira and captures the sound of PAUS falling in love with the colours and the people of their adopted home.
