Obol Le is the new project of Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti, a Bolivian-born performer and singer who was raised with the knowledge of the Tarabuco people. Drawing inspiration from Andean traditions and ceremonies, in particular the Phujllay clan’s practice of dividing the seasons into sound periods, Obol Le translate their source material into amesmerising sonic dream of pop, electronics, folk, and drone. Joined on stage by Dutch noise guitarist Liú Mottes, the band use an array of synthesisers, live tape manipulation, instruments and vocals, coupled with custom-built algorithmic video projections based on Bolivian weaving rituals, and wind these elements into a vibrant, virtual tapestry of colors, light and sound.
