Grote Kerk
Nicolás Jaar’s second performance at Rewire 2019 embodies the full extent of his explorative, process-based approach. Taking the stage as Nicolás Jaar & Group, the Chilean producer and composer will present new works for an ensemble consisting of percussionist Valentina Magaletti, who will play custom-built metal and wood instruments created by Turin-based artists Marzio Zorio and Anna Ippolito, saxophonist Mette Henriette, pianist Johan Lindvall, and Hamlet Nazaretyan and Ivane Mkirtichyan on duduk, an ancient double-reed woodwind instrument that is indigenous to Armenia. The work is commissioned by Rewire and will be performed twice on the Sunday of Rewire 2019.
