Mark IJzerman

Mark IJzerman is a Dutch media artist whose practice is focused on installations and audiovisual works that explore human perception and the interconnectedness of the senses, often starting from sound. At Rewire 2019, IJzerman will present ‘Cantus Viscous’, an a/v performance inspired by the concept of pareidolia in which an emergent video synthesiser is fed found footage, eventually listening and reacting to a sonic palette of field recordings that are performed using tape-loops. The result is an audiovisual experience that toes the line between the abstract and the figurative.
