Maggie Khorrami is an experimental musician, sound artist, and sound engineer based in the Netherlands. From her background in classical violin and fine art, she found her way into expanded sonic approaches as part of the Sonology course at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. Across her practice of sound and light installation and audiovisual performance, she utilities electro-acoustic methods – including her custom-built electric violin – to generate bristling, layered electronic textures that smolder with ominous intent and horror-leaning atmospherics. Her noise-filled sound works emerge from the flux and chaos of the world; Khorrami draws inspirations from societal discord and different socio-political contexts to create her deep and labyrinthian compositions and performances.
