Lyra Pramuk

World premiere

The word pramen in Czech – which is the root of Pramuk – refers to a wellspring or a fountain. It’s perhaps then through some kind of fate that musician and composer Lyra Pramuk emerged as such a rich source of creative and fluent music. With her debut album Fountain (2020), released on label Bedroom Community, Pramuk burst onto the scene as a must-hear artist at the forefront of experimental chamber pop. Fountain saw Pramuk utilise her own voice as the only instrument on the recording, shaping and warping it through electronic manipulation: allowing the listener to become washed away by its fluid ambience and rippling melody. The futuristic folk music of Pramuk fuses together classical vocal techniques, contemporary club sensibilities, and poppy experimentation. Pramuk’s voice is the centrepiece around which many parts fall: swirling synthesisers, violin stabs, and shimmering ambience are scattered across her organic-electronic sound. Constructed from all of these fragments, Pramuk’s songs build a collage-like world of overlaps, folds, and interlocking parts. At Rewire 2025, in the grand concert hall of Amare, Pramuk presents the world premiere of a new audiovisual performance, featuring multiple musicians and bold visuals.
