Listening session: Fragile Minutes: deep fried listening

with corecore

In the intimate setting of Page Not Found, collective and platform corecore will share a part of their working and thinking around online forms of sound and network culture, critically engaging with the phenomenon of community radios, how they originated, transformed, and how they can be iterated upon. This is illustrated by a community-curated, automated radio player which they developed together with members of the research community Trust.

After the presentation, corecore presents deep fried listening, a remix and sonic lecture which conversationally renders the same thematics: one’s relations to broadcasting infrastructures and media ecologies, partly sourced from listening sessions corecore have organised on Discord, and partly created from other remixed sonic materials.

corecore is a collective and online platform for sharing and understanding the sonics of cyber-culture with a special attention towards the relationship between identity, community, and embodied affect in the realm of the so-called “virtual.” corecore interrogates the bleeding edge between “cyberspace” and “real life” through their Discord server and events. The project is run by Callum Dean, Jan-Pieter ‘t Hart, and Tjobo Kho.
