Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir’s might be best known for her award-winning film and TV scores, most recently for ‘Joker’ and the critically acclaimed HBO series ‘Chernobyl’. Playing cello from a young age and trained in composition and new media at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and Universität der Künste Berlin, Guðnadóttir has released four critically acclaimed solo albums in between composing for theatre, dance performances and film. She’s performed live and recorded music with the late Jóhann Jóhannsson, Sunn O))), Pan Sonic, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Fever Ray and Throbbing Gristle, amongst others. At Rewire 2020 she will present an extended spatial performance of her Emmy-winning score for ‘Chernobyl’ at the Electriciteitsfabriek together with celebrated BBC nature recordist Chris Watson and composer Sam Slater, with lighting design by Theresa Baumgartner.
