Fatima Ferrari

Performing on Friday 3 April

Rebelling against the tradition of super-slick mixing, The Hague-based DJ Fatima Ferrari (real name Narges Mohammadi) prefers to chop and change through eras, styles and cultures – with electrifying results. For Fatima Ferrari, DJing is like an extension of her interdisciplinary practice, which includes curating events for and by marginalised communities in the Netherlands, with a focus on the Middle East and South-East Asia. Mohammadi is also a one of the founding member of beuys bois, a poc queer artist-led community-based collective, and an initiator of New Radicalism, a festival showcasing voices from the Middle East, North Africa and its Diasporas, which launched in Rotterdam this year. Fatima Ferrari brings her eclectic mix of Arab-meets-UK bass to the Rewire 2020 programme.
