Symposium: Instrumental Shifts

Born and raised in Iran, Ash Koosha is a London-based electronic musician and technologist who is known for his unique VR sound sculptures and computer-generated compositions. At Rewire 2019, Ash Koosha will be presenting his latest creation, Yona, an ‘auxilliary human’ who uses artificial intelligence technology and CGI to write, sing and perform her own music. As part of the Instrumental Shifts Symposium, he will explain Yona’s creative engine, a combination of generative softwares and high-end production methodologies, and reveal how she is able to synthesise the ideas of human producers and songwriters and connect them to human audiences.

Instrumental Shifts Symposium

Taking place on Friday, 29 March, the Instrumental Shifts Symposium will explore new frontiers of computer science, music, and future technologies and is organised by The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision RE:VIVE initiative in collaboration with Rewire and hosted by West Den Haag. Admission is free, but registration is required.
