Alessandro Cortini is an Italian musician, producer, composer, and instrument builder, renowned for his years of electronic experimentation in analogue synthesisers. He is a crafter of haunting atmospheres with hopeful horizons. Whether in the fuzzed out moments of synth jubilation or the slow, warm flushes of ambient noise, these tones and textures harbour a sentient nature. Cortini summons breath from his machines. The colour of Cortini’s synthesis paves the way for strange things to emerge from its frequencies; he creates a multidimensional sound that leaks out of the bounds of its medium into the arenas of movement and visuality. This is music that so magically summons visions of crumbling vistas and sci-fi skies with multiple eclipsing moons. Following up Scuro Chiaro (2021), Cortini returned to Mute Records in late 2024 to release NATI INFINITI. The album, an emotive piece across five movements, is based on the ever-evolving immersive audio-visual performance of the same name that Cortini brings to Rewire 2025.
