Today marks the release of our recording of a Rewire 2019 performance by Nicolás Jaar & Group on Bandcamp, which is now available to stream and download. The release, which consists of a commissioned work for piano, saxophone, duduk, cello, electronics and percussion instruments that were custom-built for the performance, comes on the first ‘Bandcamp Friday’ of 2021. 

The first release is now available to stream and download on a pay-what-you-want basis via Rewire’s Bandcamp page. Any proceeds from donations will go to a charity of the artists choice or fully benefit their collaborators on these projects. This comes as part of a new series of archival recordings that we will make available on Bandcamp over February and March. Today’s release will be followed by ‘Free 2 Move’, an innovative collaboration by Jaar with spatial designer and artist Vincent de Belleval, on Friday 19th February. The third release, scheduled for Friday 5th March, is a work by British composer Kit Downes created specially for the Lutherse Kerk organ, alongside Dutch new music group Ensemble Klang, commissioned by Rewire & Dag in de Branding.
