Having recentlyannounced the release of their first album in 20 years with the celestial haze of lead single ‘Star Roving’, British shoegaze legends Slowdive head toRewire 2017 for an exclusive Dutch performance. Originally formed in the late 80s, the nascent Slowdive was heralded as the creators of a wondrous new music that blended the atmospherics of Brian Eno with the noise of The Jesus and Mary Chain. Twenty years on, the trio of releases the band put out before their premature 1995 demise – ‘Just For A Day’ in 1991, ‘Souvlaki’ in 1993 and ‘Pygmalion’ in 1995 – have each become defining icons of 90s rock. Reuniting in their original constellation, with Simon Scott on drums and the glorious vocal/guitar duets of Rachel Goswell and Neil Halstead, Slowdive treat Rewire 2017 toacclaimed originals ‘Souvlaki’ and ‘Pygmalion’, as well as their highly anticipated newcomer.
